These flowers are about one inch across. They remind me of tiny petunias.
Trip chose these million bells because he liked their color!
Happy Friday, Friends! How was your week? Mine was wonderful, because for the first time since March 18th I was able to stay home all day yesterday. I was even able to cook my family a complete meal for once!
We moved Mother into her assisted living facility on Monday afternoon. Shelley took the day off to help me get her settled. We spent the entire weekend moving everything in and decorating her new studio apartment because I wanted it done before picking her up from the SNF she'd been in for over three weeks.
What did y'all think about this week's lesson? Entitled "Eyes Peeled," it was about taking the time to look and appreciate God's creation. I love hummingbirds, and they are attracted to million bells. That's why we like to display them in containers close to the house so we can watch them.
Were you blessed with a beautiful nature sighting this week? We learn so much about God in nature, don't we!
Here is this week's scripture, and I think it's a perfect match for the story in the lesson.
Prayer Requests
- Kris's MIL took a horrible fall. She broke a lot of bones in her face and had to have many stitches. She has been in a lot of pain. Pray that she will be amenable to having home healthcare so she can remain independent.
- Pray for Kitty's grandson Connor as he trains as a corrections officer.
- Pray for Carla that she will be able to effect real and meaningful change in her village. She is serving on committees, and her village needs her conservative leadership!
- PRAISE: Carla is getting a new family member! She's getting a daughter-in-law (Sam proposed to Cate, and she said YES)!
- Pray for Kitty's son Mike that he can find a job that uses his talents. He is a very talented artist!
- Praise!!! Rita's daughters are doing exceptionally well. The oldest one is graduating tomorrow, and the other is learning how to balance work and life.
- Please keep Rita's sister who moved to West Virginia in November in prayer as she's healing from knee replacement surgery.
- Please pray for Carla's friend C.M.H who has joined the United States Army. Carla and her family are so proud of him. He will be 23 in June, and he is a dear friend of her boys. He was in their homeschool group. He will leave for basic training at Fort Jackson May 22. He is her son Atticus' best friend. What is interesting about this... Carla's son Sam also did his basic at Fort Jackson.
- Pray for my mother as she settles into her new assisted living home.
- Please pray for our blog friend Jenna Meon. She is currently in rehabilitation for her walking.
Happy Friday, and praise God for your mother's transition and your move toward a more peaceful situation of your own! I had a beautiful week once my garden perked back up after a hailstorm Monday. I caught a bluebird singing his heart out yesterday, yearning to find his soul mate. I love my walks each day, always keeping my eyes peeled. I have a friend in CA who has had the miracle of finding hummingbirds nest in her beautiful secret garden each year for at least the past four. That would be nirvana for me! I plant in hopes of attracting them, but no longer put bird feed out of any kind.
ReplyDeleteThank you friends for your prayers. I can also share praise for my sister's complete healing from knee replacement. She seems settled after her move 6 mos. ago, and all her health experts secured. Next Saturday is her birthday, and we will take her to a granddaughter's wedding on that day, praying her four adult kids, if there, will reconcile with her, or at least not be hurtful toward her.
Happy Mother's Day to each and all of you!
I enjoyed this weeks lesson big time. I really liked the prayer and how it is true when we see something so special in nature, it can change us. We saw a fawn last year, that was curled up out of sight. We just happened to notice it because of our dog Ernie, who stopped to potty, we never would have seen it. Ernie did not bark or anything, it was he knew, this is a baby.
ReplyDeleteGod gives us so many gifts.
Happy Mother's Day to my Prayer Warriors.
Carla
How wonderful that your mom is in her new home and that Shelley helped you decorate it.
ReplyDeleteEvery lesson in this book is a gift. We do experience God in nature and in so many little things. I could just picture the awe and wonder of the Radnor Paparazzi and the excitement of everyone as they watched the hummingbirds and the nest. May you all have a beautiful Mother’s Day surrounded by loved ones. 💐🙏🏻💐
Good Morning everyone. I am glad Shelley could help you get your mom settled into her new place. That is a. lot of work. I am loving all the different birds we have in our area come to my feeders. I also see the four legged furry squirrels trying to partake in the feeders. I throw a few peanuts out and that usually will keep them out of the feeders. I also have three small female deer that come by on occasion to say good morning. Happy Mother's Day to the best Mom and beautiful friend. Hugs. Kris
