Happy Halloween, Friends!  I admit Halloween is't my favorite, but I do enjoy the little trick-or-treaters in their costumes!  Plus, I do love Halloween candy!

Every Halloween I remember a Bible verse our girls learned in school during this time of year:

Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
    their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried
    because they cannot walk.
Do not fear them;
    they can do no harm
nor can they do any good.
~Jeremiah 10:5

Do you have any prayer requests?  I kept thinking all weekend long about how faithful God has been in answering our prayers!  :D

I would like to pray for our upcoming elections, and that they will be secure.

Until next time...

Blessings!

God will do it!

Hello, Friends!

I enjoyed this week's lesson!  I was late completing it, though.  ;P

Here is my favorite quote from Reflection 13:

"Calling is not about accomplishments, status, and titles but about remaining in relationship with the one we serve."  This Life We Share, page 64

Prayer Requests:

  • Rita:  praises for this past week's intentions for her granddaughter and brother in law.
  • Carla request are:  to continue to build a special relationship with Catie (Sam's girlfriend). And for Catie and Sam's relationship to grow stronger during this deployment.  Praise report: the 157th have made it to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti Africa.
  • Please continue to pray for our Troops.

Good Morning, Friends!  I want to apologize for not having a post ready this morning, but my week has been busier than I thought.  However, today I only have radiation in a couple of hours, and then I'm free.

I will have the Friday post live by 2:00 P.M. central time.  Please come back because there are a few praises and prayer requests for the weekend.

Thanks for understanding!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!

This week we will spend time thinking about our calling.  Is God calling you to a specific ministry?  I haven't read ahead, but I am looking forward to reading this week's lesson.

Halloween is one week from today.   Do you have any plans?

Prayer requests?  Let us know how God has been answering your prayers in comments, and also include any requests you may have.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!  Week One of radiation treatments is in the books...YAY!  I have truly felt your prayers, and I want to thank you for praying for me.

This week's scripture is so encouraging, especially this part:  "...pray that he'll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something."  I am going to pray this prayer everyday this upcoming week, starting today.  I could certainly use a little bit of God's energy!  What about you?  Did you enjoy this lesson?  I did.  I could relate to the idea that I'm usually unrealistic about what I can accomplish in a day, especially this past year.  We do have so many distractions that aren't that important, especially when it comes to our digital lives.

I would love to read your thoughts about the lesson in Comments.

Do you have any prayer requests?  Here are a few that I'm aware of for this weekend:

  • Rita's granddaughter Baby J had ear tube surgery this week.  Please pray that they work well, and that Baby J ceases to have ear infections.
  • Carla's son Sam and his brigade are doing well at Fort Hood, and next week they will depart for Djibouti.  Let's remember to pray for them as they finish training and travel to East Africa.
  • Kris's daughter is getting married this weekend!  Let's pray for the happy couple.
  • Kitty's son Mike is still seeking a job, and her granddaughter (who has been going through a difficult time) is a little better, but let's continue to pray.
  • I have three more weeks of radiation therapy.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!  It warms my heart to see how God is answering our prayers, and Rita has shared with us how her brother's disability was finally approved.  We have been praying for this situation for months:  What a praise!

I want to share a link with you for a free PDF entitled The Power of Prayer: A Five Day Devotional.  It's sponsored by Open Doors.  Here is the LINK.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
~1 John 5:14

This week's lesson is not about prayer; it's about living a more focused life, especially accomplishing what needs to be done in the present.  It looks like a good lesson!

Do you have any prayer requests?

The only ones I have for this week:

  • Carla's son Sam and his brigade are doing well at Fort Hood, and next week they will depart for Djibouti.  Let's remember to pray for them as they finish training and travel to East Africa.
  • I start my radiation today, and I will have therapy every weekday for four weeks.  Thank you so much for praying for me during my treatment!
  • Pray for Rita's BIL's health issue, and her granddaughter Baby J is getting ear tubes tomorrow.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

Happy Friday, Friends!  What's going on in your neighborhood?  We finally got some rain Wednesday, and this weekend we're going to a Fall Festival in a little Hallmark town.  :D

I enjoyed this week's lesson.  Did you write down fifteen words to describe yourself?  You were then supposed to look up these verses below and read how they describe you as a child of God.  (I only have three of the five listed.)

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
~Romans 5:1

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
~1 Corinthians 3:16

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.
~Philippians 3:20

We need to change how we think about ourselves if our thoughts don't reflect these verses!

What are your thoughts about how (since we carry the Creator's DNA) we should love like Him?

I'm sipping on Pumpkin Spice Black Tea this morning.
It's a thing, and it is spicy and delish!

Prayer requests?

Until next time...

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  We are still enjoying the most gorgeous weather in Central Alabama;  I'm spending lots of time outside because I know that it will turn colder and wetter too, too soon.

Last week we finished the first section of This Life We Share, "The Inner Journey."  Week Eleven is the start of the second section: "The Intentional Journey."

I read ahead, and basically this week's lesson is about how we are called to love like God loves.  :D

It has definitely been sweater weather here the past few days!

I'm copying and pasting our prayer requests from Friday.  However, I would like updates for this Friday's post.

  • Rita asks for us to pray for a blogger friend Kari (Me and My Captain) who took a direct hit from Ian, and Nancy's family (Nancy's Daily Dish) who have some serious health issues (her husband and one son, 2 grandchildren).  Continued prayers for comfort for Sarah's loss of her husband Monnie.
  • Kitty's son is looking for a job in gaming design, and her granddaughter needs our prayers.
  • My mother needs your prayers, and I start radiation treatments today.
  • Carla felt our prayers during Sam's send-off, and he is in Texas for more training.  Continue to pray for him.
  • Let's pray for Kris and her husband Terry's health so they can enjoy their daughter's wedding this month.

Question of the Day:

Update:  I received an email this morning from Deb who writes the blog Mountain Breaths.  She informed me that her 57 year old sister died suddenly.  Please let's keep Deb and her family in our prayers.  Thank-you!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

Happy Friday, My Lovelies!  I hope you've had a nice week.  The weather has been beautiful here all week:  I feel so spoiled!

My favorite part of this week's lesson is that when we forgive, we're afforded freedom, and this freedom comes from obedience to God.

Here are some other verses from this week's lesson:

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
~Romans 10:17

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
~Romans 12:3

...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
~Hebrews 12:2

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
~Hebrews 12:11

Prayer Requests:

  • Rita asks for us to pray for a blogger friend Kari (Me and My Captain) who took a direct hit from Ian, and Nancy's family (Nancy's Daily Dish) who have some serious health issues (her husband and one son, 2 grandchildren).  Continued prayers for comfort for Sarah's loss of her husband Monnie.
  • Kitty's son is looking for a job in gaming design, and her granddaughter needs our prayers.
  • My mother needs your prayers, and I start radiation treatments next week.
  • Carla felt our prayers during last weekend's send-off, and Sam is in Texas for more training.  Continue to pray for him.
  • Let's pray for Kris and her husband Terry's health so they can enjoy their daughter's wedding this month.

I hope I didn't leave out any requests.  If I did, please leave them in comments.

Because we had an intense lesson this week, I thought I'd share this fall bucket list:

Until next time...

Happy October, Friends!  Do you like October?  It might be my favorite month.

This week's lesson is entitled:  "God Writes Straight By Broken Lines."  Although I have not read the lesson nor the biblical references yet, I did skip ahead and learned that it's about brokenness.  It should be a good one.  I'm enjoying this study!

We had several prayer requests on Friday's list, but I have not heard any updates yet.  If you have any requests or updates, please email me or leave a comment.

Have a great week!

Until next time...

Blessings!
