Friends, I have a prayer request.  Shanley Belle fell while working yesterday.  As she was walking up a flight of stairs, she dropped her laptop, and as she was trying to retrieve it, she fell.  She hurt her wrist, leg, and hip, and fortunately she did not break anything.  I think her pride is a little wounded, too, because she just started her new job this month.

One thing I've noticed about the devos in May is the underlying theme of mind clutter and distractions that keep us from remaining in close fellowship with Christ.  Maybe that's what Jesus wants me to focus on; what about you?  Are you noticing any repeating message or theme?

The first sentence in today's devo stopped me in my tracks:  "Thank me in the midst of the crucible."  Our family has recently been through a severe trial, and we felt under attack.  But if we are to live 
1 Thessalonians 5:18, then we are to give thanks in LITERALLY everything!

I am thankful for you today, Friends.  You are prayer warriors!

Please pray for travel mercies for our family as we travel this weekend for a wedding.

UPDATE:  Shelley attempted to take her final exam yesterday, but the proctor had technical difficulties.  They've sent in an IT order, so hopefully she can take it mid-afternoon tomorrow.  Thank you so much for your prayers:  They mean so much to us!

Happy Thursday, Friends!  It's a green tea day for me because I'm congested.  Do you have spring allergies, too?

Today'd devo is perfect timing because the checklist won't get done.  I won't even look at it!  Cleared schedules present opportunities to focus on Christ.  


Urgent:  Today is the National Day of Prayer, and for the first time in seventy years there will be NO NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER at the US Capitol.  The permit was denied.  God help us all!  Here's a reminder to pray daily for our country:

This first line from today's devo (above) is perfect for me today because I awoke with the birds and  went outside with the pups.  The dew had saturated everything....It reminded me of a terrarium!
