Happy Memorial Day, Friends!  Today, let us pray for the families who will be visiting the graves of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We'll focus on Happy Today on Friday.

Do you have any other prayer requests?

Until next time...

Happy Friday, Friends!  How has your week been going so far?  Keep you chins up, friends.  Remember that God loves us, and he has already won the war.

This week's lesson certainly comforted me: Jesus knew what was coming, and new how his disciples would behave.  And yet...

Here is this week's guided journaling writing prompt:

Imagine you were one of the disciples in the Upper Room that night.  How would you feel if Jesus washed your feet?  What would your reaction be?  What would you ay to him, if anything?

I probably would've protested and missed Jesus's sweet intent.  I think the real lesson for the disciples was looking back at that scene after the cross.

What do you think?

Prayer requests?  I have one...Sunday I fell off brick steps and hit a brick wall.  I have a slight concussion, and I'm moving slowly.  Unfortunately, my doctor has cut my screen time among other things!  :(  The back of my head is fairly scratched up, but I didn't bleed, thank God!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!  As I type this post, I'm listening to the moderately falling rain.  We have had little to no rain this month, and it is a welcome sight and sound.

I love this week's lesson from Happy Today.  It's about Jesus washing his disciples feet, his loving act of forgiveness BEFORE the fact.  Amazing.

I hope you have a lovely week.  Do you have any prayer requests?  I only have three more treatments left!  :D

Until next time...

Happy Friday, Friends!  I hope you've had a good week.  Mine has been great because I hired a service to help me clean house.  What a blessing, yet it is hard for me to let go of control around here.  Thankfully their work is better than mine!

I thought that today's lesson was interesting, featuring the Duke University study about emotional stability and how it is related to forgiveness.

Here is this week's writing prompt:

Write about a time you let go of a grudge against someone else.  How did you feel after you let go?  What helped you forgive that person?

I have to be careful in my answer because local people/friends read this, and I don't want to rat anyone out, LOL.  ;P   What I can say is that once I realized how miserable the person was, my anger turned to sympathy.  Occasionally I still pray for this person who wronged me, and I know that it has changed me (not the situation, but me).

What about you???

I hope you have a lovely weekend.  Do y'all have any prayer requests?

Until next time...

Happy Monday, Friends!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  We gardened a lot around here, and we avoided the rain and storms.  However, I'm hoping we do get rain this week.

I wanted to see the Flower Moon and lunar eclipse last night, but we passed out early.  Did you see it?

I'm happy we're studying this unit on forgiveness.  I'm enjoying it so far.  Do you have any prayer requests?

Powered by caffeine and Jesus!

Happy Friday, Friends!  How is your week so far?

Have you been thinking about forgiveness a lot this week?  I have been, and I really like the quote from this week's lesson:

"Forgiveness is simply the act of changing your attitude toward the offender: it's moving from a desire to harm toward an openness to be at peace."

Here is this week's writing prompt:

Write about someone in your life you need to forgive.  Why haven't you forgiven this person?  What could forgiveness look like in this particular circumstance?

I have had a difficult time forgiving someone who tried to embarrass me in a public forum.  I was set-up.  What helped me forgive this person is I realized that he is a very miserable, bitter, and hateful person.  He's also a bully.  My thoughts about this person turned from anger to pity.  I truly pity him because he clearly does not have joy in his heart, and I find that so sad.

What about you?

I have been living off caffeine this week because I haven't been sleeping due to steroids.  It seems to get worse weekly!

Prayer requests?  Please pray for rest for me.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!  I hope that y'all had a wonderful and blessed Mother's Day.  It was an exhausting week for me, but after a Mother's Day brunch with Shelley and Trip, I took a long, much-needed nap yesterday afternoon.  What did y'all do yesterday for the big day?

We're starting a new unit this week on finding happiness in forgiveness.  This is a tough subject in my opinion!

Do y'all have any prayer requests?  Please pray for Jackie from the blog Purple Chocolat Home as she will be having hip replacement surgery soon.  Also please continue to pray for my mother and her medical testing.  Thank you so much!

It's definitely coffee time now!

Until next time...

Happy Friday, Friends!  How has your week been so far?

This week's focus has been on simple acts of service.  Were you able to serve others this week?  Let's take a look at the writing prompt:

List a few simple acts of service you could do for the people in your life.  Record how serving others, without expecting them to serve you in return, affects your happiness level.

I will look forward to reading y'all's responses in comments because I have not had the opportunity to serve anyone outside of my household lately.  However, I do have a service opportunity I will share with y'all here on this blog within the next few days.

Do you have any prayer requests?  I have one: My mother has been undergoing many medical tests this week.  Please pray for her health.

Have a lovely weekend!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!  I wanted to share with you my first New Dawn Rose blossom.  We planted this climber last fall, and I'm working hard to keep the pests away.  There are many buds on it, and I'll share more photos when there are several blooms.

This week's focus in our guided Bible journaling is simple acts of service.  I hope that we can all find opportunities for service this week and be blessed by them!

Now I'm off to get some coffee!!!  Do y'all have any prayer requests?

Until next time...

Blessings!
