Happy Monday, Friends!

Y'all!!!  I am so looking forward to One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.  This one will take us almost through September of 2024 since there are sixty reflections rather than fifty-two.  I have looked ahead in the book, and if you haven't already, I suggest you do the same.  There are lines for writing in it, and a journal in the back for counting 1,000 Ways God Loves You!

Can you believe that this is the beginning of our fourth year studying God's word and praying together?

Also, using THIS LINK, you can receive:

  • “How to Always Find Joy” Frameable
  • a Daily Joy Map & Planner
  • a Family Gratitude Gift Jar
  • a 12 Month Joy Calendar
  • a Daily Joy Compass

FOR FREE!  :D

I will try to download all the goodies by Friday so I can begin to play with them.

This week's study is entitled "Choosing Grace."

His secret purpose framed from the very beginning [is] to bring us to our full glory.
1 Corinthians 2:7 (NEB)

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for Kitty's DIL that she will want to participate in family events.  Let's not give up!  Let's bombard God with prayers that He'll turn her heart!
  • Pray for Kris's daughter's pregnancy and grandbaby.  Both are doing so well!
  • We have a request and praise from Carla, and it's an exciting one:  The 157th and Sam are back in the states!!! They have to take sometime to quarantine. Then back to Wisconsin!!! :-)  Please pray for the reunion with family and back to civilian life can go well for all the soldiers and family.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!  Can you believe this is the last day of our study of This Life We Share?  I've enjoyed this study because it focused quite a bit on relationships.

This week's reflection is entitled:  "And Now, A Final Word (Or Five)."  Here is the scriptural reference:

“Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.  The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.  She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.

One of the points of connection asks how would you wish to be remembered.  That's a pretty heavy question, isn't it!  I would like to be remembered as an encourager.  That's pretty much it.  What about you?

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for my health.
  • Please pray for Kitty's DIL that she will want to participate in family events.  Let's not give up!  Let's bombard God with prayers that He'll turn her heart!
  • Pray for Kris's daughter and grandbaby.
  • Please ask God to provide godly military leaders and members of state houses and congress.  We need godly leaders in our country!

Have a lovely weekend!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Can you believe it?

I hope you've enjoyed this study.

But first...

Sorry, y'all.  I have been trying a new way to post on either my phone or iPad since I don't have a computer at the lake.  I cut and pasted from notes from the wrong week on Friday.
I am so sorry!

While I'm working out this technology, if you see any mistakes on my posts, please let me know!

In the interim, I'll try to ALWAYS edit my posts, not just my notes on the app.  Yikes!  Also, I did correct Friday's post.  ;P

I haven't heard from any of y'all (I don't think) probably because Friday's post was such a mess!

Please let me know of any prayer requests for Friday's final post for This Life We Share.  The only thing I know of is to pray for fair weather across our country (there have been awful storms recently), and rain for areas of drought, like in Wisconsin.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!

We were able to sleep in a little this morning and garden before the afternoon heat.  It was nice, and we accomplished quite a bit.

I enjoyed this week's reflection because it is about one of my favorite scenes in the Bible, when the hemorrhaging woman reaches out in faith to touch Jesus, and he literally feels his power go to her.

[Jesus] said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Mark 5:34

Jesus called her daughter!  This reflection is also touching as Maggie shares a story about foster children with us.  God intends for us to live in a supportive community of believers.

Here are a few other scriptures from today's lesson:

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for Sam and the 157th.
  • Pray for our country!
  • Pray that Kitty's DIL will decide to participate in family activities.
  • Pray for rain in Carla's area.  They've been suffering a drought.

If I missed any, please let me know.  It has been a very busy and trying week for me.  Thank-you!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Good morning, Friends!  How was your weekend?  We organized Mr. Happy's closet almost all day Saturday.  It looks so good, and he's very pleased.

If he messes it up again....let's not go there, haha!

This week's reflection is a little heavy because it's about suffering.

Here's a preview:

I'd also like to remind you that this is our next to last week in This Life We Share.  We will start our new devotional on July 31st:

Have you ordered your copy yet?

Prayer Requests

  • Today we have a couple of praises about how well Kris's daughter's pregnancy is going, and also Rita's BIL is recovering so well.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th.
  • Pray for our country!
  • Pray that Kitty's DIL will decide to participate in family activities.
  • Say a special prayer for Mr. Happy because it's his birthday today!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!  How has your week been?  Do you have any fun summertime activities planned for the weekend?  We're expecting lots of rain, so it looks like I'll be helping Mr. Happy clean out his closet.  Fun times!  :/

We only have two more weeks in This Life We Share, and we've chosen our new devotional we'll start discussing on Monday, July 31st:

I think this study looks great!  I appreciate y'all's input.

What do you think about this week's reflection?  "Entitled The Only Thing You Need to Remember Today,"  Maggie's lifeline is the very best:

If you forget all else, remember this:  God knows you, He loves you, and He will never, ever leave you.
~Page 236

Now that's a super-easy and encouraging To-Do List!

Here are a few of the scriptural references from the lesson:

Prayer Requests:

  • Travel mercies for Kitty as she visits with her son in Colorado.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th.
  • Kris's daughter is doing well with her pregnancy so far.  Praise!
  • Continue to pray for my friend Pat's family.
  • Continue to pray for Rita's BIL's recovery.
  • Pray for our country!

This was in my inbox yesterday, and I thought I'd share.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!

I'm finally back in Birmingham after spending ten days at the lake.  Our internet was not working up to par, and cell service isn't the best, especially on holidays.  It's like game day at a major university: The cell towers can't handle the influx of phones!

I have news about my friend Pat: She went home to be with her LORD and SAVIOR on July 3rd.  Pat's niece called me the morning of the fourth.  I am so sad, but I'm also happy for her.  She did not suffer because she never regained consciousness after surgery.  Prayers for her family would be appreciated.

Also, today is your last chance to submit a new devotional.  Please email me your choices, and I will send out an email either Tuesday or Wednesday with the list.

I haven't read this week's reflection yet, but this is one of the scriptural references.

This is not a scriptural reference from our lesson, but I've seen this verse several times the past week, so I thought I would share.

ALSO:  Have you seen the movie The Sound of Freedom ?  Please consider seeing it at your local theater this week if you haven't seen it yet.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for Kitty as she's visiting Colorado this week to spend time with her son's family.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th.
  • Pray for Kris's daughter's pregnancy.
  • Pray for my friend Pat's family.
  • Continue to pray for Rita's BIL's recovery.

If there are any new requests, please share them in the Comments section.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

Happy Friday, Friends!

I want to apologize for the lateness in posting today.  I’m on lake time, and today is our youngest daughter Shelley’s birthday.

Also, I’m m writing this post on my iPad so I hope it doesn’t turn out wonky. If it does, I’ll fix it when we return home Sunday.

I enjoyed today’s reflection because it teaches us that God desires our happiness, and that He is much more than an arbiter of joy.

Below is one of the Bible verses from the lesson.

  • For our prayer requests, please remember to pray for our nation.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th.
  • Pray for all our military members and their families.
  • Pray for Kitty’s daughter and law, that God will change her heart toward the family.
  • Please say a special prayer for Shelley today.

Until next time…

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

Happy Monday and Independence Day Eve, Friends!

I'm currently in rural Alabama with my family, and cell and internet is not the best.  Hopefully when (almost) everyone leaves on Tuesday night I'll be better connected!

This week's reflection is entitled: Too Good To Be True?  It Just Might Be Anyway.  I haven't read it yet, but I will read it by Friday.  Intriguing title, isn't it!

I will post updated prayer requests on Friday, but for now, let's pray fervently this week for our country!  Also, refer to last Friday's post for more prayer requests.

I hope you have a blessed Independence Day with your friends and family.  I can't wait to hear about how you celebrated on Friday!

Until next time...

God Bless America!
Ricki Jill
