Peace With the Psalms: Week Thirty-Four

Happy Friday, Friends!

How was your week?  Mine has been lovely so far.  It's been quiet and peaceful, and I was able to take two classes this week: my regular weekly art class and a Bible study class at church.

What have you been up to?  We know what sweet Rita has been doing this week.  Here's to praying for a very speedy recovery!

I enjoyed this week's lesson so, so much.  Actually, Psalm 103 was part of my personal Bible study this week.  Whenever I encounter a repetition of God's word within the space of a day or two, I pay attention!

The visuals for this lesson can be summed up like this:

This cross is in our foyer.  I think it's a nice visual for this week's lesson.

Below is the scripture from this week's lesson.

Prayer Requests

  • Carla requests that we pray for the Wisconsin Guard troops that are stationed in Kuwait that are slowly returning home. All should be back on Wisconsin soil by August.  Prayers for safety as they come home and transition back into civilian life.
  • Pray for Kris's husband Terry to find something here in Illinois full or part time so they can stay there for a few more years.
  • Continue praying for Kitty's son Mike as he continues on his journey of no pain meds.  Mike is off of pain meds for several weeks and is weaning off several other prescriptions.  Mike is requesting that we pray for his mental health.
  • Molly’s contract fell through on the barndominium (Kitty's daughter).  Pray that God will lead the right buyer to purchase her home.
  • Pray for Rita's daughter Megan.  Also pray for the purchase and closing of her home.
  • Let's pray for all of our health, and for the health of our families.
  • Pray for Kris and Terry as they help settle Terry's mother's estate.  It's hard work, and having to deal with so many people can be difficult.
  • Pray for Carla's son Sam and his fiancée, Cate, who will be married on August 29th.  Pray for their plans, wedding, and marriage.
  • Pray for the two families affected by suicides in Carla's community.
  • Kris's Grandson Edmund will be a Big Brother in March!  God is so good!  Let's lift both mother and baby up in prayer.
  • Please lift up Rita in your prayers!  Not only is she trying to recover from cyclospora, she also fell and broker her wrist.  She had surgery on Wednesday.  Pray that she will get the needed rest for her body to heal.
  • Pray for Rita's brother's companion Betty who will have a lung biopsy next Friday after a PET scan showed several hot spots. She had breast cancer 5 years ago.
  • Kitty's brother is home from the skilled nursing care.  Please pray that he can manage.
  • Travel mercies for me and my family.  Shanley Belle, Christopher, and our little Starling will be flying down to the beach, and we will be joining them.
  • Pray for Kris's SIL Tim who is up for a new job with another fire department.  Pray he is successful in finding something soon.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. Good Morning dear friends. New prayer request for Terry to find something here in Illinois full or part time so we can stay here for a few more years now that our youngest daughter Kim is expecting another baby in March. Would hate to be far away for that. Terry is not one to sit idle even with playing golf everyday. He needs something so I have been praying for something to happen for him. My SIL Tim is up for a new job with another fire department so prayers he success in finding something soon. Thank you sweet prayer warriors. Rita so happy you are healing well. Have a good weekend. Hugs Kris

  3. I lived this brokenness lesson and it reminded me of how ancient Chinese practiced embellishing cracked parts of valuable possessions with gold leaf to become part of its beauty. I like to think that’s how we are in God’s eyes. Your entryway cross is such a beautiful statement, Ricki Jill.
Thank you for updating all of our prayer requests. We are a busy, thoughtful group of prayer warriors.
    Happy weekend dear ones! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  4. I love Kitty's analogy of broken Chinese porcelain, and Ricki Jill's cross with this week's psalm study. Yes, RJ, when the message repeats, one should pay attention! Everyone, we are joined in prayerful friendship. I thank God for you, pray for you, and love sharing our joys and sorrows. Have a wonderful weekend.
