One Thousand Gifts: Monday, Week Twenty-Seven

Happy Last Monday in January, Friends!

I want to thank you so much for your prayers last week.  They were truly felt, and we had a wonderful trip.

This week's lesson is short, and it made me cry.  Entitled "this-moment grace," I hope it encourages you like it did me.  I'm sure I'll re-read this one a couple of times over the course of the week.

This week's scripture is Psalm 103:15 and 17, but since I also have a graphic for Psalm 103:13-14, I decided to share it, too.

Prayer Requests:

  • Kitty asks that we pray that her Grandson Connor and his dad will make amends; Son Mike will find a job; and Son in law Eric will be able to manage his cervical dystonia.
  • Pray that God will keep a hedge of protection around each of our families, especially concerning our health (physical, mental, and spiritual).
  • Thank-you, God, for your constancy in answering our prayers!
  • Pray for unity in our country, and that God will show us mercy and continue to bless us.
  • Carla has a request for her community as crime is increasing.  She also requests that we pray for courage for the citizens of Cameron.
  • Sam is back to his monthly Drill schedule with the Wisconsin National Guard. Prayer request is for strength and wisdom. Longer drill periods have been set for this year.  Pray for the 157th!
  • A group of Wisconsin National Guard will be deploying to Syria. Please continue to pray for our military and military families.
  • Kris asks that you pray for her BIL.  He had his surgery this past Wednesday and is out of ICU to a step down cardiac unit.  Probably will go home if all goes well by this coming Wednesday.  He is doing really well.  Prayers for her grand dog Snickers.  She is her daughter Kim's dachshund.  She has major back issues after a seizure a year ago and was doing better but now has had a relapse and cannot walk again.  Hoping and praying the meds will work again and she can resume function.
  • Pray for my friend Jen's mother Janet who's recovering from two back surgeries since Christmas Eve Eve (Dec. 23rd).  UPDATE:  Janet is home!
  • Remember Rita's daughters in your prayers as they head into their spring semester of graduate studies while working full-time.  She is particularly concerned about their levels of stress.
  • Carla asks that we please pray for COMMON SENSE regarding the border to prevail. And as the Texas National Guard vs. The Border Patrol, may the hearts of these brave sons and daughters not get corrupt by government, but know what is best for the PEOPLE of this beloved country.
  • Also, please pray for the truckers who will participate in the Truckers' Protest at the Texas Border which starts today through February 3rd.  It's estimated that around 700,000 truckers will protest, including truckers from Canada.

Have a lovely week, Friends,  If I've forgotten any prayer requests, please email me and leave a comment.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. Wow. Today's devotion hits hard. It's the 17th anniversary of actually hearing those words, not about my daughter, but my mother, after an accident. The grace seen was in her not suffering, but slipping away peacefully over the course of a few days.
Amen to Carla's prayer today. Our situation bother here (border crisis) and abroad (Middle East) is so serious.

  3. This was a sad chapter today, and I’m like you and will reread it.
I will be praying with all of you for the fallen army soldiers and their families, for all those affected and for the border and Middle East crisis.
I’m happy that you felt our prayers, Ricki Jill. We are a faithful prayer family.
