"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him."
Job 13:15 (NKJV)

"He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
    he causes me to stand on the heights."
Psalm 18:33

"Though the fig tree does not blossom
And there is no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive fails
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock is cut off from the fold
And there are no cattle in the stalls,

Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord;
I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army];
He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet
And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my [a]high places [of challenge and responsibility]."
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (AMP)

God will help us when times are tough, enabling our footing (like the deer's) to be sure and stable in the heights of struggles.

Until next time...

I find comfort during summer by turning-up the AC and making hot chocolate!
This was especially fun during Christmas in July (Hallmark Channel).  There has been much darkness in this world this summer.  Let Christ's light shine brightly through you!

"Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
    when they carry out their wicked schemes."
Psalm 37:7

"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory."
Romans 8:16-17

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
1 Peter 2:9

Today I take comfort in knowing that Christ's light has overcome the darkness of the world, and we live a life of abundance as heirs to God's kingdom.

When I saw these roses in the shop, I was struck by the variety of reds, pinks, greens, and creams in them.  I love God's beautiful world found in nature (and curated at my local florist).

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
John 14:6

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
Colossians 4:2

Thank-you, God, for the time spent with you each and every day! Thank-you for planning my day.

"The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
    but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
Proverbs 12:18

"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,"
James 1:19

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Ephesians 4:29

Tough lessons in today's devo, especially for me.  I'm part Irish, I have the gift of the gab, and my words are not always encouraging.
