Our dining room is the darkest room in our house. I was so happy to get a little sunshine in there today. It reminded me of the December 28th devo, when we find joy in seeing simple things, like "sifting shades of sunlight."
"I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory."
Psalm 63:2
"See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm.
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.
He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
Isaiah 40:10-11
"Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast."
Psalm 139:7-10
I think I need to form a new habit, the one described in today's devo. We are all creatures of habit, aren't we! Maybe each time this month I reach for chocolate (not a good habit) I will instead say, "I trust you Jesus," and "ponder the depth and breadth of His love for me." I'm not making light of today's lesson; I will write it on a post-it note and put it on the pantry door!
Until next time...
Blessings!

How great is Your goodness,
Which You have stored up for those who fear You,
Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You,
Before the sons of mankind!
You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of mankind;
You keep them secretly in a [a]shelter from the strife of tongues.
Psalm 31:19-20 (NASB)
"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]"
John 16:33 (AMP)
Today's devo is unusual because both Bible passages are from different translations, and neither are from the NIV. I really loved the AMP translation of John 16:33~ "My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding."
Isn't it nice we have a "burden-bearer" in Christ Jesus! :D
How is 2021 for y'all so far? Does anyone have any praises?
Until next time...

"Look to the Lord and his strength;seek his face always."Psalm 105:4
She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10: 39-42
I should probably read today's devo at the beginning of every. single. day.....
(Note: I started reading these devos last May, so this is my first time reading this one.)
Do y'all have any prayer requests? Please continue to pray for our country, especially 2 Chronicles 7:14. There will be big happenings in D.C. on January 6th.
Until next time...
Blessings!

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future...Jeremiah 29:11
Happy New Year!
I knew it was going to be a great devo when I recognized two of my favorite Bible verses!
I'm hopeful that this is going to be a very good year.
Do you have any resolutions, words, or goals for 2021? You can see mine in the sidebar. Please share yours!
Until next time...
Blessings!
