Street light Christmas decorations in Frankenmuth, MI
Happy Monday, Friends! How was your Thanksgiving? We had a great time: Ann Arbor was the place to be last Saturday, especially if you follow college football!
This week's devotion is entitled "hammering grace." I haven't had a chance to read it yet today, but I should be able to read it later this afternoon.
Here is the scripture for the lesson:
Praises:
This week I want to PRAISE GOD for answering our prayers in the affirmative. God is being so good to us all! I want to thank you especially for your travel mercy prayers. We had the easiest flights and airport experiences ever on this heavily traveled weekend. I am also praising God for answering our prayers about Julie and Kris (so happy you're better Friend!)...
On Friday I will begin with a brand new list of requests. Please email me any updates you may have, or list them in comments.
Until next time...
Blessings!

The Christmas Season is almost here!
Happy Black Friday, Friends. Do y'all participate in all the Black Friday madness? Our daughters want to go to three shops this morning while Christopher is on call, then we'll drive over to Frankenmuth, Michigan, and check-out their Christmas activities.
This year is unique in that Advent begins in December: There are four Sundays in December before Christmas!
This week's devotion was not what I thought it was going to be about. Entitled "all here grace," it's about being in the present, in the here and now where we can love God. I thought it was sweet, and it was applicable to the beginning of the holiday season where so many distractions compete for our time with God.
What did you think about it? Are you enjoying this devotional?
This week's scripture:
- Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
- Pray that God will place hedges of protection around all family members of every reader of this blog. I feel like we are under attack.
- Please pray for Kris as she has a very nasty case of COVID. Pray that she can get relief from her coughing, and that she can get healing rest. Also pray that God will comfort and heal her immediately!
- Please pray for me because my heart rate has been dropping very low, and my doctor has ordered me to wear a monitor for two weeks.
- Pray for Carla's family and my family as we will be traveling this week.
- Also pray for Rita's daughters in travel mercy prayer, and her other family members who are traveling for this holiday week.
Blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! I hope you have plans with family and friends. I have a fun question: What is your favorite kind of Thanksgiving pie? Mine is pecan!
This week's devotion is entitled "all-here grace." That sounds like a great title for Thanksgiving week, doesn't it! I haven't read it yet, but I am very thankful to have an "all-here" Thanksgiving holiday planned!
Here is this week's scripture:
- Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
- Praise! Trip made it home from Minnesota, and he had a great week.
Give thanks for the little things.
Hello, Friends! Some of us have had a challenging week, but I'll get to that in a bit. First of all, it seems like each devotion gets better and better. Entitled "praying grace," I was reminded of Daniel and his commitment to prayer and praise. Can you imagine how it would change us if we were as dedicated as Daniel to pray and give our thanksgiving to God? Ann also shared wonderful scripture. Please read all of them below.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:You have given me wisdom and power.~Daniel 2:23
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.~Daniel 6:10
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.~Philippians 4:6
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.~1 Timothy 2:1
I will praise God’s name in songand glorify him with thanksgiving.~Psalm 69:30
And Mary said:“My soul glorifies the Lord."~Luke 1:46
- Let's thank God and praise him that Rita's daughters are finished with their semester's work. They are relieved and currently stress free!
- Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
- Pray for Trip as he's traveling home from Minneapolis today.
Thank you so much for your commitment to prayer. I am so thankful for you all!
Until next time...
Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!
What did you do over the weekend? Have you decorated for Christmas yet? I am behind in my Christmas preparations!
This week's devotion is entitled "praying grace." Here's the scripture:
Prayer Requests
- Praise: Kitty's Granddaughter Avery chose to be baptized over the weekend. She is so proud of her. (She’s the 16 year old daughter of son Tim and DIL, Julie.)
- Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
- Carla reminds us that it's not too early to pray for an honest election for all sides running, and that everyone that wants to run can have a fair go at it. Let's also be bold in asking God for more godly men and women willing to serve in government.
- Please keep Rita's daughters in your prayers. They are both in graduate school and working full time (one being a full time momma), and are feeling a lot of stress currently.
- Pray for our country as we're experiencing an invasion on our Southern border. We don't know who these fighting age men; they have not been vetted.
- Pray for peace.
- Pray that God will place hedges of protection around all family members of every reader of this blog.
- Please pray for our neighbor David who is grieving right now.
- Trip will be traveling for training this week. Please pray for travel mercies and understanding of all the material he will be learning.
Happy Friday Morning, Friends! How's your week so far? We've been enjoying listening to the rain and drinking hot tea this morning. I am so thankful for the rain because we are experiencing drought conditions, and our governor signed a no outdoor fires declaration yesterday, so the timing of the rain couldn't be any more perfect.
What did you think about this week's devotion? Entitled "naming grace," Ann understands and conveys the power of language: God created the universe through language, and the way she points out how naming things and blessings actually blesses God is breathtaking. Thoughts?

Happy Monday, Friends! Thank-you so much for being prayer warriors with me. We're getting into the holiday season with Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
I am so unprepared. But that's okay, isn't it! I'm trying to focus on the important and let everything else fall by the wayside.
This week's devotion is entitled "naming grace," and the scripture gives us a hint:
- Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
- Carla reminds us that it's not too early to pray for an honest election for all sides running, and that everyone that wants to run can have a fair go at it. Let's also be bold in asking God for more godly men and women willing to serve in government.
- Please keep Rita's daughters in your prayers. They are both in graduate school and working full time (one being a full time momma), and are feeling a lot of stress currently.
- Also, Rita asks that you pray special birthday blessings for her sister: Her birthday is today!
Happy November, Friends! What have you been up to this week? What did you think about our devotion? I appreciate that the Apostle Paul stressed how he had to learn to be content in Philippians 4, that it wasn't something that just happened once he believed in Christ.
Here's the scripture from the lesson:
Ann shares with us her determination to "crack the code" of the language of eucharisteo, and she believes that her daily stream of consciousness and child-like thankfulness is the beginning of a "full of grace" language learning process. She stated it much more articulately than I did, but you get the gist.
