Happy Monday, Friends!  How was your weekend?  What did you do???

This week's reflection is about marriage, and I enjoyed this one a lot.

Prayer requests?

This is what I have so far for the week:

  • Please pray for the people suffering in East Palestine, Ohio.  God, please let there be justice for them.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be united.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th, our active duty military, and our veterans.
  • Our country needs godly leaders.  Let's pray that God will send us leaders who fear Him.
  • I would like to pray for the incredible outpouring of God's Spirit going on in Kentucky at Asbury University.  This blessed phenomenon is spreading to other colleges across the country!  The Holy Spirit is truly moving young people.
  • Please join me in praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our country at 7:14 AM and PM when you can.
  • I have a short trip coming up, and I would appreciate it if you would start praying that I will have the stamina to go and enjoy the planned events.
  • Rita has a prayer request for various health concerns within her family that are currently in crisis management to resolve.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!  Lent started Wednesday, and I hope that we can all stay focused on what's important during this solemn time in our church calendar.

This reflection is one of my favorites so far.  I appreciate Maggie's insight about moving and longing for community.  We've lived in our current home for twenty years, but once my husband retires in about four years or so we might want to move.  Who knows?

Kris has relocated recently, and Rita has moved back to her old neighborhood.  Anyone else planning a move?  Do any of you have anything to share about relocating?

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for the people suffering in East Palestine, Ohio.  God, please let there be justice for them.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be united.  It's Kitty's birthday today.  Happy Birthday, Kitty!  Please pray that EVERYONE in her family participates in her birthday celebration this weekend.
  • Pray for Sam and the 157th, our active duty military, and our veterans.
  • Our country needs godly leaders.  Let's pray that God will send us leaders who fear Him.
  • We have a praise!  Kris's husband Terry got the job of his dreams five minutes from home!
  • I would like to pray for the incredible revival going on in Kentucky at Asbury University.  The Holy Spirit is truly moving young people, and the revival is spreading to other colleges as well.
  • Please join me in praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our country at 7:14 AM and PM when you can.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Monday, Friends!  How was your weekend?  What did you do???  We went on a few walkies with the Westies.  It has been a little colder here, but yesterday was nice:  I didn't even need to wear a hat!

This week's lesson is about seeking community, especially after a move.  Moves are stressful!  Even when they're the result of something that's a blessing, like a promotion.

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
~1 John 5:14

I think this verse applies to everything including community, don't you?

Prayer Requests?

I'd like updates from y'all when you get the chance, but here's what I have for today:

  • Please pray for the people suffering in East Palestine, Ohio.  God, please let there be justice for them.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be united.
  • Pray for Sam, our active duty military, and our veterans.
  • Our country needs godly leaders.  Let's pray that God will send us leaders who fear Him.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!

Spring is arriving in our neighborhood as we enjoy forsythia, tulip magnolias, and daffodils all over.  Are the early harbingers of spring blooming in your neck of the woods?

This week's lesson is about mentoring.  Have you ever been mentored or been a mentee?

Here's a look at this week's scripture:

As iron sharpens iron,
    so one person sharpens another.
~Proverbs 27:17

...that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
~Romans 1:12

I also encourage you to read Titus 2.

Prayer Requests:

I have been very distressed this week about how the people in East Palestine, Ohio are suffering from the "train derailment" debacle.  Our federal government is sending billions to Ukraine, yet is refusing to help this community.  This tells you all you need to know about how our government feels about us:  They hate us.

Let's hold these people close to our hearts and pray for them.  Let's pray that God will care for them because he can take care of the problem with a single thought.

Please pray for:

  • Kris would like for us to pray for Terry's work opportunities.  Do you have an update, Kris?
  • Carla requests that we pray for our nation and the world, it seems to be on fire. Spy balloons, war, high prices for our food, fuel and other energy.  Don't forget to pray for Sam!  She will be traveling today to visit her sister for the weekend. She asks for prayers for travel and for their weekend stay. Her mom has not been well, and they I will be discussing care options during the weekend. Praying for wisdom as to how to help her dad with her mom's health issues.
  • Let's pray for Rita because she helps and cares for so many in her family.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be United.
  • My mammograms were so good that I don't need another one for a year.  I will also have a body scan soon due to back pain out of an abundance of caution.  My doctors think I have a pulled muscle, but they want to be certain.

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends!

Do you have big plans for tomorrow?  We really don't.  We might cook something yummy and just chill...maybe I can talk the mister into watching a rom com!

This week's lesson is about mentoring.  :D

Prayer Requests:

  • Kris would like for us to pray for Terry's work opportunities.  He had an interview Wednesday morning.  (I think) he has a follow-up meeting tonight.  Continue to pray for her mother-in-law's recovery from minor surgery.
  • Carla requests that we pray for our nation and the world, it seems to be on fire. Spy balloons, war, high prices for our food, fuel and other energy.  Don't forget to pray for Sam!
  • Let's pray for Rita because she helps and cares for so many in her family.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be United.
  • I have a follow-up mammogram this morning followed by appointments with my Radiology oncologist and my medical oncologist.  Please pray for clear scans!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Happy Friday, Friends!  This week's lesson was a tough one, wasn't it!  I'm still hurting from a few "friendship fails."  I've lost friends over petty things, and I've had a couple of friends who have broken my heart.  The lifeline for this reflection is one of the best ones in the book so far:

The greatest temptation to sin can come after we've been sinned against.
This Life We Share, page 134

As always, there's great wisdom in this week's scripture, too.  I've included Matthew 6 in the sidebar.

Wealth attracts many friends,
but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.
A false witness will not go unpunished,
and whoever pours out lies will not go free.
Many curry favor with a ruler,
and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts.
~Proverbs 19:4-6

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
~Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.  Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,  to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
~Titus 2:3-5

I always enjoy studying the Book of Proverbs because it's the book of wisdom.

My question for you today is this:  How have "friendship fails" actually been a blessings in disguise?

Prayer Requests?  Here are a few for the weekend; feel free to add new ones in comments.

  • Kris would like for us to pray for Terry's work opportunities.  He had an interview Wednesday morning.  Continue to pray for her mother-in-law's recovery from minor surgery.
  • Carla requests that we pray for our nation and the world, it seems to be on fire. Spy balloons, war, high prices for our food, fuel and other energy.
  • Let's pray for Rita because she helps and cares for so many in her family.
  • Please pray for Kitty's son that he gets a job and for her family that they can be United.

Praises:

  • Carla is feeling better as she's managing her pain!
  • I was released from PT Wednesday!

Until next time...

Happy Monday, Friends!  How was your weekend?  Ours was busy, so it was nice to sleep in this morning.

This week's reflection is on Friendship Fails.  Yikes!  That's something I don't want to do to a friend of mine...

I'm sipping on a cinnamon vanilla coffee bomb right now.
It is so good.  Have you had one?

Prayer requests:

  • Kris would like for us to pray for Terry's work opportunities.  He has an interview Wednesday morning.  She's also taking her MIL for an outpatient surgery today.
  • Carla requests that we pray for our nation and the world, it seems to be on fire. Spy balloons, war, high prices for our food, fuel and other energy.

Any other requests, please place in comments.  Have a wonderful early start to the week, Friends!

Until next time...

Happy Friday, Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Groundhog's Day yesterday, and that your local varmint didn't see his shadow.  He didn't here, so spring should be right around the corner.

I wanted to tell y'all about an encounter I had at the hospital when I was going to PT.  I met a couple in the elevator, and they were lost, and I told them I'd help them find their way.  While talking to the lady, she said, "I'm a Christian," and we started discussing our faith in Christ.  She shared with me a paper she had in her purse about praying the names of God.  (I saw that she had other papers about a variety of faith-related topics, but she chose to give me the paper about praying the names of God.)

When Moses asked God for his name, God replied: "I am who I am.  Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent you."  (Exodus 3:14)

So given Gods response, we can call on God's "names" meaning the attributes he has, in other words, who He IS.  Here is a list the lady gave me:

Names of God

El Elyon:  The Most High God
Elohim:  Creator
Jehovah-nissi:  The Lord My Banner
Jehovah-jireh:  The Lord Will Provide
Jehovah-shalom:  The Lord Is Peace
Jehovah-sabaoth:  The Lord of Hosts
El Shaddai:  The All-Sufficient One
Adonai:  Lord, Master
Yahweh:  Lord
Jehovah-mekoddishkem:  The Lord Who Sanctifies You
El Olam:  The Everlasting God
Qanna:  Jealous
Jehovah-raah:  The Lord My Shepherd
Jehovah-rapha:  The Lord Who Heals
Jehovah-shammah:  The Lord Is There
Jehovaj-tsidkenu:  The Lord Our Righteousness

It's powerful to pray the Names of God.  Here is a link for more information!

By the way, when I got to my appointment, I was there at the wrong time;  I had missed my appointment by one hour.  I looked in my planner, and I must have written down the wrong time.  I think God wanted me to meet the lady and have a conversation with her.  Fortunately, my PT had an opening just a couple of hours later, so I ran a few errands before returning to the hospital.

We'll return to This Life We Share Monday.

Prayer Requests?  How are PT and pain management coming along, Carla?

Until next time...

Blessings!
