One Thousand Gifts: Friday, Week Seven

Happy Friday, Friends!  How are you?  Have you had a productive week???  I cleaned every inch of my kitchen and purged items we no longer use nor need.  Whatever our daughter or niece doesn't want we will donate.

It's amazing what a family can accumulate living in a home for twenty-two years!

I must admit that this is my favorite devotion so far.
I know I certainly underlined more in this lesson than the previous ones!

Below are my favorite quotes from the devotion involving trust:

Trust [is the] antithesis of stress.

What is saving belief it it isn't the radical dare to wholly trust?

~From one thousand gifts,  pp. 32-33

It is really very simple about how God has most certainly earned our trust.  Now it's up to us to actively believe and trust!

What are your thoughts about this week's devotion?

The scriptural reference is below:

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for the people suffering in Maui.  Let God shed light on the truth of what happened there.
  • Pray for Kris's daughter Kim as she only has about three more weeks until she gives birth to her first child.  Let's pray for an easy labor and delivery, and a healthy, happy mom and baby!
  • Please, God, send us strong leaders who will put you first and then the citizens of our country.  Pray that the division in our country ends, and that we can truly be one nation under God, and indivisible.
  • Let's continue to pray for our gold star families and our active military.
  • Please pray for Kitty's DIL, Julie, that her heart will change; for SIL, Eric, that he will see some relief for his cervical dystonia; and for her son, Mike, that he will get a job.
  • As a group, let's commit to the constant adoration of Christ and praise of God!
  • Carla reminds us that it's not too early to pray for an honest election for all sides running, and that everyone that wants to run can have a fair go at it.
  • Please pray for travel mercies for our daughter Shanley Belle and our son-in-law Christopher as they are taking the red eye to London tonight.  They will be traveling in Great Britain for several days and will be returning home on September 27th.

Now go have some coffee and have a great weekend!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. Prayers for all. Hope your daughter and SIL made it to London safely and are having a great trip so far. Please Pray for Terry's mom. I have been taking her to doctors and she has not been doing well health wise. She will be 89 next month and was always in good health. In the last month she has not been doing well. She would have been married to Terry's dad 68 years this week. She is having a hard time with him being in heaven and her still down here with all of us. I guess when you have been with someone your whole adult life it is very hard to adjust to living without that person. My heart is breaking for her. Prayers she can find strength to know God is not ready for her yet and he still has some things for her to do here on earth. I pray she can find ways to cope with her loneliness. I will pray for all of those intentions written this week. Hugs. Kris

  3. I bet it feels good to purge. I love that feeling. It is amazing how many things can accumulate over the years. Have a good rest of the week. Hugs. Kris
