Happy Monday, Friends! I will be taking a brief blog break for the next couple of weeks. I will return to posting on Monday, April 8th.
If you have any urgent prayer requests, please email me using the email contact form on the Contact Page.
Until next time...
Blessings!

Happy First Friday of Spring, Friends! We've had nice weather this week, but unfortunately the air quality hasn't been great. What have you been up to this week?
This week's devotion is about trust, and how thankfulness feeds our trust in Christ. It was hard for me to get past the images of the children during World War II sleeping with bread, how it comforted them knowing there would be something for them to eat in the morning. I can't help but wonder about these stories, and I might follow-up with the footnoted source at some point this spring.
Here is this week's scripture:
- We have a praise! Pastor Steve is state side. Mercury One and Congressman Cory Mills organized the rescue mission. They rescued 23 people. Cory Mills is a special ops expert and personally helped!
- Kitty's son-in-law Eric found out from his doctor that insurance has declined to pay for his upcoming surgery. The doctor is going to appeal, and keep him scheduled. She asks that we pray insurance will agree to pay for this surgery for the brain implant for his cervical dystonia.
- Please continue to pray for our military and military families.
- Remember Rita's daughters in your prayers as they head into their spring semester of graduate studies while working full-time. She is particularly concerned about their levels of stress.
- Please pray for my friend Dawn who is fighting leukemia.
- Kitty asks for prayers for Mike to get a job.
- Sam has just received word he has another extended Drill Date in April. He cannot tell us much... just that several teams will be deployed. Pray for the 157th!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Friends! I know it was yesterday, but it seems strange celebrating it on a Sunday, but maybe it's appropriate considering St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. Did you celebrate? Someone gave us some shamrock cookies. That was the extent of our celebration!
Today is my grandmother's birthday. She would have been 104 today (she passed December 1, 2019, just a couple of months short of her 100th birthday).
This week's lesson is entitled "bread grace," and I think it's a difficult read because Ann Voskamp's thoughts are all over the place in this one (even more so than her norm). This isn't really meant as a criticism because I enjoy stream of consciousness writing. I will need to read it several more times before I write Friday's post.
- URGENT FROM CARLA: A local pastor is currently trapped in Haiti. Pastor Steven Svendsen. Please pray for his safety and swift evacuation from this dangerous country. (The Biden administration has stated that Americans are on their own in Haiti.)
- Kitty's son-in-law Eric found out from his doctor that insurance has declined to pay for his upcoming surgery. The doctor is going to appeal, and keep him scheduled. She asks that we pray insurance will agree to pay for this surgery for the brain implant for his cervical dystonia.
- Sam is back to his monthly Drill schedule with the Wisconsin National Guard. Prayer request is for strength and wisdom. Longer drill periods have been set for this year. Pray for the 157th!
- A group of Wisconsin National Guard will be deploying to Syria. Please continue to pray for our military and military families.
- Remember Rita's daughters in your prayers as they head into their spring semester of graduate studies while working full-time. She is particularly concerned about their levels of stress.
- Please pray for my friend Dawn who is fighting leukemia.
- From Carla: a local 57 year old truck driver was killed by an illegal. The illegal did not have any United States I.D. or a driver's license. He handed the deputies two I.D.'s from Mexico. Praying for the family of the truck driver, leaving behind a wife, children and grandchildren.
- Kitty asks for prayers for Mike to get a job.
Happy Friday, Friends! Beware the Ides of March! ;P
I am so excited this morning because Mr. Prayer Warrior is having breakfast at home, which is rare! I have no idea what he'll want, but we have plenty of options.
What do you typically have for breakfast?
I usually only have a coffee bomb during the week.
This week's lesson is entitled "manna grace." It was another tough one on grief, and I admit I chose not to reread this one. There are way too many "what is it" moments these days, and so many mysteries we cannot comprehend. Yet.
Thoughts?
Here is this week's scripture:

While my coffee is brewing, I'm typing and watching a storm roll in. This is the last weekend of winter, and we're entering into our severe weather season.
I hope y'all have a peaceful weekend!
Happy Monday, Sweet Friends! How was your weekend? Mine was spent fixing bugs on my blog. I also got a lot of chores done, too. I must admit that I'm a wee bit bleary-eyed this morning; the beginning of daylight savings time isn't exactly my favorite time of the year!
I have not read this week's devotion, but as soon as this post is live, I'll make some coffee, settled down, and read it. I'm intrigued with the title: "manna grace." Wouldn't you like to see manna, and then try to make something with it? It has been described as being like coriander seeds (Numbers 11:7).
Here is this week's scripture:
This verse was part of my daily Bible reading on Saturday!
Before I share the prayer requests... I want to share with you some great news Kitty shared with me over the weekend. We have diligently been praying that her grandson Connor and his dad would make amends, and they have! God is so good, and it has been a privilege seeing how he answers our prayers, and it's been super cool to see how he has been working in our families.
Prayer Requests
- URGENT FROM CARLA: A local pastor is currently trapped in Haiti. Pastor Steven Svendsen. Please pray for his safety and swift evacuation from this dangerous country.
- From Carla: Praying for the family of Laken Riley. My heart breaks for them. My Texas family asks for prayer regarding the fires and border.
- Let's pray that God will protect our American citizens against foreign entities who want to harm, kill, and destroy.
- Sam is back to his monthly Drill schedule with the Wisconsin National Guard. Prayer request is for strength and wisdom. Longer drill periods have been set for this year. Pray for the 157th!

Have a great week!
Until next time...

Happy Friday, Friends! How has your week been so far? What have you been up to? I've accomplished a lot, checking-off items from my To Do List. It feels good!
This week's devotion is entitled "lowest grace." I think this is my favorite one out of what we've read so far. It is such a wise lesson, that gratitude increases our humility so that God's miracles and gifts can flow down to us. It is such a sweet lesson about a loving God who wants to shower us with his precious gifts. We only need to be willing to humble ourselves and accept them.
What are your thoughts about this lesson? Here is this week's scripture:
- From Carla: Praying for the family of Laken Riley. My heart breaks for them. My Texas family asks for prayer regarding the fires and border.
- I'd also like to add to pray for the families of Mollie Tibbetts and Lizbeth Medina. These illegal aliens are killing our citizens, and they need to be deported before more lives are lost.
- Kitty asks that we pray that her Grandson Connor and his dad will make amends; Son Mike will find a job; and Son in law Eric will be able to manage his cervical dystonia.
- From Carla: a local 57 year old truck driver was killed by an illegal. The illegal did not have any United States I.D. or a driver's license. He handed the deputies two I.D.'s from Mexico. Praying for the family of the truck driver, leaving behind a wife, children and grandchildren.
Happy Monday, Sweet Friends! I hope y'all had a lovely weekend. I have not read this week's lesson yet, but it is entitled "lowest grace."
Here is this week's scripture:
He must increase, but I must decrease.~ John 3:30 (NASB)

Dandelions are often maligned as weeds. However, they are very healthy for us, so instead of killing them with round-up, maybe we should research their medicinal qualities instead.
Happy Friday, and March, Friends!
Wow, it has been a week! I had no idea when I wrote Monday's post what all I would have to do. I also received some bad news about a friend: She is fighting cancer, again, for the fourth time. That, along with other unexpected obligations, has overwhelmed me just a bit.
I enjoyed this week's lesson. Although it was basically a sweet vignette of family life, it was touching to me. As an only child, I'm always fascinated with sibling relationships, especially as adults. God's grace for the adult siblings (as Ann describes it) is as delightful as the summer's afternoon spent picking raspberries and another often overlooked weed. And as I type this looking out on another cold, rainy morning, I know that the promise of sun-warmed spring and summer days will be here soon.
- Kitty asks that we pray that her Grandson Connor and his dad will make amends; Son Mike will find a job; and Son in law Eric will be able to manage his cervical dystonia.
- Carla asks that we please pray for COMMON SENSE regarding the border to prevail. And as the Texas National Guard vs. The Border Patrol, may the hearts of these brave sons and daughters not get corrupt by government, but know what is best for the PEOPLE of this beloved country. Pray for the fallen and the injured in the recent attack on our troops in Jordon. May our military feel our prayers and support.
- Pray for the health of all our family members.
- Prayers please for Kris's SIL as he was in a terrible car crash a week ago.
- Travel mercies for Kris and Terry as they drive to Tennessee to pick-up a rescue Basset Hound!
- Travel mercies for Rita as she's been in Cincinnati.
- Please pray for my friend Dawn who is fighting leukemia.
