One Thousand Gifts: Friday, Week Thirty-Four

Happy First Friday of Spring, Friends!  We've had nice weather this week, but unfortunately the air quality hasn't been great.  What have you been up to this week?

This week's devotion is about trust, and how thankfulness feeds our trust in Christ.  It was hard for me to get past the images of the children during World War II sleeping with bread, how it comforted them knowing there would be something for them to eat in the morning.   I can't help but wonder about these stories, and I might follow-up with the footnoted source at some point this spring.

Here is this week's scripture:

Prayer Requests

  • We have a praise!  Pastor Steve is state side.  Mercury One and Congressman Cory Mills organized the rescue mission. They rescued 23 people.  Cory Mills is a special ops expert and personally helped!
  • Kitty's son-in-law Eric found out from his doctor that insurance has declined to pay for his upcoming surgery. The doctor is going to appeal, and keep him scheduled.  She asks that we pray insurance will agree to pay for this surgery for the brain implant for his cervical dystonia.
  • Please continue to pray for our military and military families.
  • Remember Rita's daughters in your prayers as they head into their spring semester of graduate studies while working full-time.  She is particularly concerned about their levels of stress.
  • Please pray for my friend Dawn who is fighting leukemia.
  • Kitty asks for prayers for Mike to get a job.
  • Sam has just received word he has another extended Drill Date in April. He cannot tell us much... just that several teams will be deployed.  Pray for the 157th!

Have a super-fun weekend, Friends!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. Praise for Pastor Steve's return! It is wonderful new to read that Cory Mills worked so hard to get this accomplished, yet so frustrating that Biden's team continues to fail us.
Praying dir everyone's good health and a good weekend.

  3. Praise for the good news for Pastor Steve and Cory Mills’ mission. The Biden Administration is such a disappointment on so many levels.
As far as the bread, Ricki Jill, I saw a movie based on true events on children that were saved in the holocaust and when given bread they all ran and hid it in bed. We take so much for granted, don’t we.
Happy weekend blessings to all and prayers for each of you.
