December 3, 2020

This is an Advent devotional I have enjoyed in recent years.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Ephesians 6:12

"All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands."
1 Samuel 17:47

"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth..."
Philippians 2:9-10

"Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls."
1 Peter 1:8-9

Isn't it comforting to know that we have a warrior in Jesus who fights our battles for us!  The passage in Ephesians from today's devo tells us to put on the Full Armor of God because that's the only way we can be victorious over the "spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Our prayer for today:

Until next time...

Blessings!

  1. I love this one for today. I feel we are all warriors right now and need to turn to God with our worries and ask for strength to push forward in life right now. Happy Thursday. Hope you are having a wonderful day. xoxo

  2. We gave our boys The Warrior Prayer. It hung in their bedroom.
They now each have a copy on their desks .. we all need this reminder as we navigate this big world.
    Thank you for sharing!
