Just a friendly reminder to pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our country.  We need healing prayers!

Are you a planner?  I am, and I truly need to focus on the present.  Jesus has the future already planned out, and since he is God, he is already there!

Today is National Coffee Day.  I'm thankful for coffee!

Wow, today's devo is very involved.  Lots of juicy nuggets, and it is definitely one I need to read multiple times during the day today.  One thing I took away from it is that we aren't to judge others' struggles.

I have an urgent prayer request:  Our sweet little neighbor Braxton (6 years old) has just been diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer.  Please pray for him!  His parents are devastated and frightened.

There truly is freedom in forgiveness.  I had a "frenemy" at one time, and I started to pray for her because I'd tried everything else.  I could forgive her with God's help.  Also:  I love the principle of 1 John 4:18.

I am really liking these September devos because so many of them focus on the present, and how we are not to participate in unbelief by worrying about tomorrow.

I loved today's devo even more than normal.  Trying fervently to find the quiet times during the day to hear that still, small voice.

Today's devo really convicted me because I am such a planner.  I know that a little planning is important because of the principle in 1 Corinthians:

"But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way."  1 Corinthians 14:40

I suppose that I haven't found the proper balance yet.  

Also, I wanted to add that the verse before Psalm 37:5 (Psalm 37:4) is one of my favorite verses:
"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." (NKJV)

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:17-18


Christians are meant to have unveiled faces.  We should never wear masks, as it says in the verses from 2 Corinthians, above.  We should certainly NEVER wear them in church, because when we wear them in church, they reintroduce the veil which was torn the moment Jesus died on the cross.  When the veil tore, it meant that there was (and is) no longer separation between God and his people.  When we wear a mask, it reverses this order.

2 Corinthians 4:1-2 states: "Since God has so generously let us in on what he is doing, we’re not about to throw up our hands and walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times. We refuse to wear masks and play games. We don’t maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don’t twist God’s Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God." (MSG)

Plus, satanic rituals involve the wearing of masks.  Masks have been a mark of slavery throughout history, and they are dehumanizing.  This is just one step to force us to accept ID 2020.  I admit I have had a huge problem with the mask mandates.

I know that this doesn't really apply to today's devo, but God placed it on my heart to share.  And I don't want you to think I am criticizing anyone for wearing them because I have family members who must wear them to work, and I have had to wear one myself on a couple of occasions.  

Again, I just wanted to share my thoughts and concerns about the mask mandates.

My favorite lesson in today's devo is how time spent with Christ isn't meant to be difficult or hard.  Our time with Jesus is a stress-free zone.  So nice and needed in the times in which we're living!

Well, if today's devotion doesn't put you in your place, nothing will!  I guess we need to lay off the judgment not only of others, but also of God's purpose for our lives.  But if we're focusing more on communication with Jesus, then the former won't be as big of an issue.

Today's devo really hits home.  I have a Twitter friend who invites everyone to pause at 7:14 (both AM and PM, depending on your time zone) to pray for our country.  I have been doing it, and I'd like to invite y'all to do the same.  It's very easy, just set your alarm on your phone and pray when you can.  If you miss the time, that's okay, too, but know that thousands of other people in your time zone are praying along with you.



"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14

Today is a day in history we shall never forget.  I've been praying for safety for our nation, especially on this day.  I don't think it is a coincidence that Philippians 4:4 is part of the devo today.  Let's rejoice in what God has already done for us: God wins!

This is called a prayer plant.  The leaves turn upward in the evening, like the little plant is praying evening vespers.
They're little reminders for us to pray at the end of the day.


"...Though the mountains be shaken
    and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
    nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
    says the Lord, who has compassion on you."
Isaiah 54:10

" 'I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.' "

The scripture from Genesis is part of the story when Jacob saw the stairway to heaven with the angels ascending and descending (Jacob's ladder).  He was definitely a trickster in his early life, but he was still blessed once he wrestled with God and admitted to his dependence on Him.  Praise God for his compassion!

We've had so much rain that our encore azaleas have never been prettier.
Since I''m not at home and don't have access to my studio, I will post a few photos from around our garden this week.


Trust in the Lord forever,

Lots of focus on the word "trust" in today's scripture.  I can think of several areas in my life where I need to let go and let God.  Like the devo says: the quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line, and Jesus leads us along a straight path.  I love geometry, so I love the visual from today's devo.
